As part of the celebrations held during “Semana Santa 2012” (Easter Week from Monday 2nd of April to Sunday 8th of April), on Saturday 7th, otherwise known as Sábado Santo, the pirate ship “La Grace” at the Marina Casa de Campo, welcomed children and families who enjoyed a marvelous and active afternoon playing “Pirates of the Caribbean!”
Last Saturday the 7th of April, residents, villa owners and visitors of Casa de Campo had the terrific opportunity to visit and enjoy a tour onboard the pirate ship “Le Grace” where 6 friendly pirates, awaited to enjoy numerous games and guide their visitors around its different areas!
Whilst the little ones took part in a piratey treasure hunt, which had them “walking the plank”, play fighting, and searching for eggs (it was Easter after all), lead by the merry band of friendly yet ferocious pirates, parents and adults relaxed at the Victory Club’s terrace overlooking the Marina Casa de Campo.

“La Grace” The ship built in 2010, inspired in concept by 17th century pirate ships, is characterized for its impressive passages and decks, in which the pirates keep their costumes, a library with numerous maps and weapons as well as numerous cabins with capacity for up to 40 people, including a special one for officers, and the captain’s very own saloon! This international pirate ship, which regularly voyages around the world, called “La Grace” meaning “beauty”, really is a hand-made beauty, featuring 4 cross sails, 5 vertical, including one (mandatory) engine. It weighs 126 tons and is 36 meters long, 6 meters wide, and 26 meters tall. Since its arrival to the Dominican Republic at the end of January 2012 “La Grace” which is currently docked at the Marina Casa de Campo will soon be setting sail to other countries in Europe!
