Happy New Year from Casa de Campo! We hope that 2012 brings you everything you hope for: happiness, health and good times! We’ve just enjoyed an incredible party week here in Casa de Campo La Romana – so as we continue to recover, here we bring you a quick re-cap (with some awesome photos) of all the parties! Enjoy……..
Monday December 26th 2011 – Sunday January 1st 2012
Every Monday afternoon from 3pm to 7pm, the tranquil artist’s village of Altos de Chavón in Casa de Campo is magically transformed with a “Dominican Extravaganza”, an interactive show with wild traditional Dominican costumes, music, dancing, a street parade and ending with the Kandela! dancing show in the Altos de Chavón amphitheater.
The drumming beats of David Almengod, the talented Dominican percussionist and his group of 8 drummers echoed around Altos de Chavón from 6pm through to 10pm – accompanied by a surprise fireworks display!
Tours aboard the Costa Luminosa cruise ship docked at the La Romana port are available to Casa de Campo villa owners, residents and visitors every Monday.
The Nacimiento Viviente (the traditional Christmas story) by the children of the Fundación MIR was directed by Paola Treviño de Gonzalez and took place in front of the Altos de Chavón church at sunset. This magical Christmas show was a superb presentation of the singing, dancing and acting talents of the young children and adults currently being educated at the Fundación MIR’s La Romana schools.
Many Casa de Campo villa owners and guests enjoyed a wonderful evening shopping, socializing and giving to a good cause at the cocktail and art exhibit “Arte Naive” in aid of the Hogar del Niño, hosted by Jenny Polanco at her store “Jenny Polanco Project” in the Marina Casa de Campo.
Claudio Silvestri, CEO and President of Premier Resort and Hotels hosted a magnificent cocktail and dinner party with his wife, Roswitha at their Casa de Campo villa, to welcome VIP hotel guests who had chosen to celebrate the holidays in Casa de Campo.
Hosted at the newly reopened and renovated Victory Club at the end of the Paseo del Mar in the Marina Casa de Campo, the 1st annual Christmas Boat Parade by IBC Yachts and the Marina Casa de Campo, sponsored by United Brands was beautiful – and the start of a very magical new holiday tradition.
The inauguration cocktail to celebrate the opening of new art exhibit “Caminos Azules” by local Dominican artist Fernando Tamburini was celebrated at the Altos de Chavón art gallery and was a great success.
The 20th annual Cartier Fundraiser hosted by the Fanjul family with Cartier at their Casa de Campo estate to raise funds jointly for the Fundación MIR and the Hogar del Niño was a glittering success – this year with more generous guests than ever before.
During “La Temporada”, otherwise known as the party week between Christmas and New Years Eve in Casa de Campo, the Marina Casa de Campo is the place to be seen (before ending the party in Altos de Chavón of course) and on Friday evening he main Plaza Portofino was packed with Casa de Campo party animals enjoying a DJ.
The Palmillaso 2011 was as wet and wild as ever, with more than 100 party boats joining the action at local beauty spot Palmilla for an afternoon of boat hopping, booziness and bopping! And thanks to sponsors Presidente beer and Ron Barcelo, the Casa de Campo Living catamaran was able to join the party in real Casa de Campo style!

New Years Eve: La Romana Country Club Dinner and Party
For many Casa de Campo villa owners and residents, the annual New Years Eve dinner and dance party hosted at the La Romana Country Club was the perfect place to celebrate New Years Eve with family and friends.
The annual Beach Party at Minitas Beach was brimming with more than 2,000 revellers who partied until 8am (apparently – I went to bed a little earlier than that)!
During this magical party week in Casa de Campo, Casa de Campo Living and CasaLife magazine also attended a number of private parties hosted at private Casa de Campo Villas – but we are awaiting the professional photos and ‘permission to publish’ before we release the glamorous details!
