From Thursday the 10th through to Monday the 14th of November the Jenny Polanco boutique in Santo Domingo presents the “Kaplan Vintage Collection,” that boasts not only ethnic, artisanal and vintage jewelry from Stephen Kaplan’s personal collection, but also the tales and stories behind the collection told by Kaplan himself.
Stephen Kaplan, the dean of the Altos de Chavón School of Art and Design is, as well as a great art enthusiast also a great collector, who has over the last 30 years gathered unique artifacts from his many international travels. In this extraordinary collection you will find ethnic pieces hailing from India, China, Turkey, Peru, Mexico, Indonesia and even Italy.
Presenting this magnificent collection is Jenny Polanco, member of the Casa de Campo community, ex beauty queen and successful Dominican designer, who has 2 stores in the Marina Casa de Campo and one in Altos de Chavón and who also presented her latest fashion offering “Retrospective” at the Dominicana Moda 2011 fashion event.
