Every year, Travel+Leisure magazine announces it’s ‘World Best Awards’, what they call “the definitive list of the top hotels, cruise lines, airlines, car-rental agencies, outfitters, cities and islands, as voted by readers” and this year the Casa de Campo Resort in the Dominican Republic has been ranked in the top 10 family hotels in the Caribbean, Bermuda and the Bahamas.
Of course, we already knew that Casa de Campo is not only a paradise for adults (and golfers), but is also a fantastic place for families and especially kids – with so many sports and activities, as well as an excellent family programs scheme how can it not be?
So what makes Casa de Campo such a great place to vacation with kids? Although I have no official answer on this, I have a few reasons (which I have come up with myself):
1. It is safe!
Every parent worries about their children and so vacationing in a safe place is VERY important, not only for your children’s safety, but also for the parents peace and mind – it wouldn’t be a vacation if you were worrying all the time!
2. There is lots to do!
Children need to be kept busy! Here are just a few entertainment solutions in and around Casa de Campo:
• tennis • golf • the beach • the Bonche (kids play area) • boat trips • kayaking • stand up paddle boarding • surfing • zip-lining • horse-back riding • summer camp •
3. FREEDOM Once kids reach a certain age, they need/crave/demand freedom and although you may be reluctant/frightened to give it to them, here at Casa de Campo the use of golf carts to get around the resort means that OLDER children can get around without relying on the taxi of mum and dad!
4. RELAXATION
So now that the kids are amused – Casa de Campo is a perfect place for mum and dad to relax; on the golf course, at the spa, by the pool, at the beach or over a romantic dinner…and later in the hot tub with a glass of champagne!
For those of you who are in Casa de Campo right now, the following activities for kids are happening now:
