Every year the Museo Arqueológico Regional Altos de Chavón offers a children’s summer camp to explore art, science, archaeology and Taino culture and the camps are due to start later this month! The camps will be held in the museum in the beautiful Altos de Chavón in Casa de Campo, which has its own ‘discovery room,’ a purpose built room for children designed to represent Taino life and filled with a variety of learning tools. The camps are: Aprendo Explorando (I learn to explore) For: 2-4 year olds When: June the 20th to July 1st, Schedule: Monday to Friday, 9am – 12noon Cost: RD$3500 or US$95 (materials included) Children will enjoy: Ceramics, painting, drawing, dance, archaeology and ecology Explorando el Pasado! (Exploring the past): for 5-10 year-olds, runs for 2 weeks from For: 5-10 year olds When: July 4th to July 15th Schedule: Monday to Friday, 9am – 12noon Cost: RD$6500 or US$175 (materials included) Children will enjoy: archaeology, exploration, caving, drawing environmental conservation and more!
