In the Dominican Republic from June 1st through to November the 30th it’s rainy / stormy season! For those of us who live here, we know that this means that there will be still plenty of glorious sunshine, but of course there is always the chance of a miserable amount of rain! Casa de Campo Living’s STORMTRACK 2010 will keep you informed on all the latest weather conditions, good or bad…..

Our STORMTRACK 2010 page looks like this:

It warns of “disturbances” which can develop into Tropical Storms or hurricanes or just lots and lots of rain – at the moment there is a ‘Medium Potential Disturbance’ which if you click on the ‘more’ it tells you what exactly this means.

How to best use the STORMTRACK

In the top right hand side of the STORMTRACK, there is this:
This can be used to display different things on the model:

–  the clouds
–  the forecast models
–  radar (although I can’t work out what this does, so just ignore it!)

For instance if you want to see where the clouds are click ‘On’ for the clouds, then the STORMTRACK will look like this:

The Forecast models are also very useful – they show you where a ‘disturbance’ (tropical storm of hurricane) is likely to go, to see the Forecast models, just click ‘On’ for the forecast models. Then the STORMTRACK will look like this: (now we can see that the ‘disturbance’ is not likely to hit the DR.)
