We recently published a very amusing, baffling and bizarre article ‘Only in the DR: Pollo con Viagra,’ which literally translated means chicken with Viagra. In our article I hypothesised the potential meaning of this strange saying – we have now discovered the truth!
I theorised that the Chicken must have been injected or fed Viagra, but I (of course) had no idea why!
Unsurprisingly, I was TOTALLY wrong, and ‘Pollo con Viagra’ has a much more innocent explanation!

Although Rebecca made good attempts to explain ‘Pollo con Viagra,’ it doesn’t have anything to do with actual Viagra. But in the DR and ONLY in the DR, Viagra is a special, strong and spicey vinagret!
We put it on our fried chicken or porkchops! It is very tasty and it adds power and strength to the flavor of the chicken. It is made of lime juice, oil, salt, oregano, hot peppers, garlic, vinegar, it is mixed and the put over the fried chicken. I think we are the only country who do this, and put signs up like that!
Don’t be afraid to try it – it is very tasty, unless you have a weak stomach!
