40th Annual Sugar Golf Tournament Welcomed Golfers at The Minitas Beach Club

On Wednesday, April 3, golfers convened at The Minitas Beach Club to kick off the 40th Annual Sugar Golf Tournament with a welcome cocktail. Hosted by Mr. Alfy Fanjul and in partnership with IBI Yachts and Azimut Yachts, the event showcased models of luxurious mega yachts, adding a touch of maritime splendor to the gathering.

The Minitas Beach Club provided a serene backdrop for over 300 guests to mingle and enjoy the festivities. Earlier in the day, players engaged in practice rounds at La Romana Country Club and the Teeth of the Dog, fostering camaraderie before the competition.

Mauro Caslini, President and CEO of IB Nautica, Alice Caslini, and Federico Caslini welcomed the attendees. Mr. Alfy Fanjul extended a gracious welcome, urging those interested in acquiring a yacht to explore further with the evening’s host.

The Sugar Golf Tournament’s 40th edition continued with practice rounds on Thursday and tournament rounds on Friday and Saturday. While the ladies teed off at the Dye Fore (Lakes/Marina) and the Links, their male counterparts took to the Teeth of the Dog and the La Romana Country Club.

Beyond golf, guests enjoyed leisurely shopping at the MIR Sugar Bazaar and various social events. The tournament concluded with a prize-giving ceremony and dinner party at the La Romana Country Club on Saturday evening.
