Ahead of this weekend’s Hogar del Niño Annual Fundraising event, the Hogar del Niño has organised a tour of it’s excepcional day care facility, so that Casa de Campo’s residents and villa owners may experience first-hand the outstanding work undertaken everyday at the outstanding facility.
The tour leaves from the Casa de Campo hotel reception at 10am on Friday the 18th of February and will return at approximately 12pm. The tour is completely free and if you would like to take part – all you need to do is contact the Hogar del Niño and sign up!

The Hogar del Niño, in La Romana town is a children’s day care and education facility, which cares for more than 1500 children every day, with many children arriving as early as 5:30am and not leaving until 7:30pm – making the Hogar del Niño much more than just school or care centre, in many ways it is like a second home. The Hogar del Niño provides education, food, clothing and even health and dental care to the lucky children enrolled on its program; more than 200 babies, 600 toddlers and more than 500 children who attend their full-time school.
On your tour of this impressive facility you will see the ‘Crib room’ – where more than 200 babies are cared for in row upon row of white cribs and a giant play pen, their special school for their 75 children who are hearing impaired and blind, the vocational school – where 235 children are prepared for the ‘real’ world with sewing, woodwork, cooking and many more classes, the dentists room, the infirmary, the library and the sports centre and of course you will see and meet the hundreds of happy, smiling children which make all the hard work worth it!
