The Good Samaritan Golf Tournament postponed until Saturday June the 4th!

The Good Samaritan General Hospital Foundation’s second annual charity golf tournament was scheduled to take place last Saturday the 21st of May but due to heavy rain had to be postponed!  The Tournament will now be played on Saturday the 4th of June – so if you haven’t yet signed up, thanks to last weekend’s bad weather now you can!!

The basic details of the tournament are as follows:

When: Saturday the 4th of June, 1pm

Where: The Teeth of the Dog, Casa de Campo

Cost: US$200 per player

Following the tournament there will be a prize-giving ceremony with complimentary cocktails.

THE GOOD SAMARITAN GENERAL HOSPITAL FOUNDATION’S 2nd. ANNUAL BENEFIT GOLF TOURNAMENT

(To benefit the social assistance program and the program for integral health and welfare for children)

General Hospital Foundation Good Samaritan’s second Annual Charity Golf Tournament to raise funds for the Program for Integral Health and Welfare for children, will be held at Casa de Campo’s Teeth of the Dog, on Saturday May 21st. 2011 starting at 1:00 pm.

The funds raised will be used to assist poor children who need physical rehabilitation therapies, nutrition programs, medicines, hospitalizations, laboratory studies and surgical procedures abroad to correct serious heart conditions.

The format will be couples scramble with the lowest handicap used to establish the category of the couple. The cost of participation is $ 200.00 per person or equivalent in pesos. After the tournament, an awards ceremony will be held, with toast, delivery of trophies for the couples who get the first 3 places and special trophies for approach the flag, most accurate drive and longest drive. A gift raffle, auction
and more will round out the day!. In addition, Golfistas Dominicanos will present their contest “El Golfista Ganador”.

The first annual Benefit Golf Tournament was held last year on May 8, 2010, with sponsorship from national major brands and companies, the participating players, enjoyed a cocktail party and prize drawing for an all expenses paid trip to Uxbridge, Massachusetts, to participate in another charity tournament at the Blissful Meadows golf course. The winners of the first three places were presented with beautiful bronze trophies of “El Artistico” from Jose Ignacio Morales.

Hospital Foundation Good Samaritan’s is a nonprofit institution that has been providing assistance to the needy for more than 13 years. The organization is focused on supporting the development of programs and activities targeting the neediest in the Dominican Republic. The programs include: Malnutrition and Food Control for malnourished children and patients with HIV or Tuberculosis, Women’s Health, Bio- Sand Filters for clean drinking water in the Bateyes (in collaboration with Rotary Club International), HIV / AIDS Detection and Prevention Program (in collaboration with the MIR Foundation ) Integral Health and social care for children, Mobile Medical clinics in the Bateyes and City neighborhoods, and Medical Surgical Operations (Salpingoscopy, General and Reconstructive Surgery, Orthopedics, Gynecology, Dentistry, Ophthalmology, Pediatric Urology, Arteriovenous fistula , harelip, etc.).
