Ron Atlantico, the simply gorgeous Dominican Rum created by Aleco Azqueta, son of Lian Fanjul de Azqueta and Norbeto Azqueta has, in its relatively short life already become a huge hit in Casa de Campo and is quickly becoming a world-wide phenomenon with celebrity fans such as Enrique Iglesias.

Enrique Iglesias, who came to Casa de Campo himself in April 2009 and performed in the Altos de Chavon Amphitheatre, as part of his ‘Greatest Hits World Tour,’ is a HUGE fan of Ron Atlantico. During his performance in Altos de Chavón Enrique took some time out from singing (as is his custom) and invited a few fans on the stage to join him for a couple of shots of Grey Goose Vodka, nowadays however it would seem that Enrique has turned his back on Vodka in preference of our favourite Dominican rum – Ron Atlantico. Currently touring the United States on his ‘Euphoria Tour’, Enrique has been enjoying shots of Ron Atlantico mid-concert and has even been heard calling Ron Atlantico ‘my drink’ and saying ‘this is what I get drunk to every night.’ Not only is this man HOT, but he also has good taste!

Here is a video of Enrique Iglesias enjoying Ron Atlantico ‘his drink’ on stage in Miami:

During his stay in Casa de Campo Enrique Iglesias was spotted at Peperroni in the Marina Casa de Campo, which is where all celebrities visiting Casa de Campo like to hang out – most recently we spotted A-Rod and Cameron Diaz there, but we’ve also seen the Jonas Brothers, Kate Hudson and even Beyonce and Jayzee there.

Casa de Campo is no stranger to celebrities over the years we’ve seen (or heard about): Pitbull, the Jonas Brothers, Michelle Bernstein, P Diddy, Adamiri Lopez, Daisy Oliveras, Manolo Cardona, Michelle Rodriquez, Celines Toribio, Alex Rodriquez, Carlos Santana, Sting, Frank Sinatra, Kanye West, Don Omar, Michael Jackson, Cameron Diaz, Vin Diesel, Eva Cavalli, Kate Hudson, Oprah, Naomi Cambell, Former President Bush, Beyonce and Jayzee, Alicia Keyes, Goldie Hawn, Il Divo, Al Horford and Jhonny Damon.

Ron Atlantico – we love thee!

I first tasted Ron Atlantico back in March 2009, when we enjoyed it at the 3rd Gran Feria de Andalucia en el Caribe and have been in love with its delicate caramel-sweet flavour, which is perfect neat, on ice, or even in a mojito or caipirinha, ever since. Over the last 2 years, Ron Atlantico has been a sponsor at many a Casa de Campo Living event; the Feria Barlovento 2010 and 2011, the Noche Dominicana and the Dueños Bazaar 2010, as well as many other high-end Casa de Campo events such as the annual Sugar Tournament, the Cartier fundraiser for the MIR and Hogar del Niño at Casa Grande, as well as the bi-anual Fundacion MIR weekend events.
