paseo This past Tuesday the 15th of December Carole Trembley, a Casa de Campo villa owner and beloved member of the Casa de Campo community hosted a very special event called «Paseo en el Rio,» and it was a superb night out!The event took place on Casa de Campo’s ‘River Princess’ boat and turned out to be a party of epic proportions with plentiful (and very good) wine, delicious food and even Champagne! Over 100 Casa de Campo villa owners, residents and other guests joined Carole for this cruise up the river – and so what I had expected to be a rather relaxed affair turned out to be a lot more fun than I had anticipated! There were so many waiting staff, who were also surprisingly efficient that despite the large number of people, you were never left without a drink – definitely a big bonus! The food was catered by Chef Phillipe Mongereau, who did a fantastic job – the food was absolutely delicious especially given the challenging logistics of serving food from the bar of a boat! In my opinion all the food was magnificent, but for me the best were the humous and pepper mini tarts which were melt-in-the-mouth delicious, as well as the mini quiche, which were honestly the best quiche I have ever tasted! Not to mention the home-made French macaroons, which came in a variety of flavours from Amaretto to chocolate to strawberry and several others – I confess I may have eaten more than my fair share!
