Last Saturday the 4th of June, following the Buen Samaritano Golf Tournament, a group of Casa de Campo friends came together to celebrate the birthdays of Emilio and Angel.
The birthday celebration was a joint party for both Emilio Hasburn, president of Banco Federal and Angel Luis Garcia, president of Dominican golf magazine Golfistas Dominicana and was an intimate gathering for a small group of family and friends, held at the gorgeous Casa de Campo villa of Emilio in the El Valle neighborhood of Casa de Campo.
A Birthday Dinner with friends!
We began the evening with a few drinks out on the terrace, enjoying the cooling breeze coming off of the Dye Fore golf course and wheting our appetites for the dinner to come! For dinner we enjoyed delicious roast pig from a ‘caja china’, which was cooked so perfectly that, the meat was juicy and tender, whilst the cuerito (pig skin/crackling) was crispy and heavenly! We did of course enjoy some other good Dominican food with our pig (rice, beans, tostones), but the pig was so excellent all the other food paled in comparison!
After dinner, Angel’s wife Josefina appeared out of the kitchen with a cake and we all sang happy birthday!
Looking and feeling a lot like pigs after so much dinner, we all returned to the terrace, where we sank into the comfy lounge chairs, enjoyed one too many after dinner drinks and continued to celebrate!
Happy Birthday Angel and Emilio! Feliz Cumpleaños!
