This week’s ‘only in the DR’ photograph comes from Alexa Mclay and was taken at the Abraham Lincoln School, in La Romana.On first glance you may think that Alexa is being naughty – playing with a rubber glove in class. In fact poor Alexa shut her finger in a door and so went to the nurse for some ice, she came back with an ice hand! The hand as you can see is completely filled with ice and was taken out of the freezer – after a small amount of huffing and puffing and some hacking with an ice pick to dislodge it.
Although the ice hand did afford us some amusement in class – it actually served it’s purpose quiet well, after we’d all finished laughing she was able to get on with her very important maths work, whilst her finger was kept cool with the ice hand.
Until it started to melt and leak…..
