MOISES DE LA RENTA DESIGNS CUSTOM ‘JUNO’ ‘HERA’ AND ‘ERIS’ DRESSES EXCLUSIVELY FOR THE EMPIRE HOTEL FASHION WEEK AMBASSADORS

Renowned Fashion Designer Partners With the Empire Hotel
To Benefit Hogar Del Niño Charity

NEW YORK, NY, (September 6, 2011) – Celebrated runway designer Moises de la Renta, son of fashion mogul Oscar de la Renta, has partnered with the Empire Hotel to custom design three special occasion signature dresses that will be worn by the hotel’s Fashion Week ambassadors. MDLR

The Empire Hotel is proud to welcome back its Fashion Week ambassadors in time for the neighborhood’s third Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week experience in September 2011. The Empire Hotel Fashion Week ambassadors are stationed in the lobby from 6am-11pm for the duration of the Week and are equipped with information on all happenings at the hotel, as well as all of the events and shows taking place at Lincoln Center. The Ambassadors are armed with all fashion week necessities including the Lincoln Center layout/floor plan for the shows, maps & kits for any fashion mishaps.

The “Juno”, “Hera” and ‘Eris’ dresses, named by Moises himself for his collection MDLR, are inspired by the elegance of simplicity, a theme he has been known to incorporate into his previous collections. The dresses are whimsical and chic, donning two layers of sheer, flowing chiffon material and simple pleated skirts in a variety of colors, including gray, black, turquoise and navy.

“This is a very exciting collaboration. I am thrilled to be partnering with the Empire Hotel to create these three pieces to celebrate the most exciting week in New York City, and to benefit Hogar del Niño, a charity that is near and dear to my family,” said Moises de la Renta.

Nestled in a private corner of West 63rd Street between two legendary New York City landmarks – Lincoln Center and Central Park – this boutique NYC hotel provides luxury accommodations overlooking the Broadway / Columbus Avenue gateway to the Upper West Side. Location is essential to the spirit of this Manhattan hotel, as earth tones from the park enhance an interior motif inspired by the stately modernism of Lincoln Center and the new bustling energy of Fashion Week.

“We are honored to be partnering with such a gifted designer with such a celebrated family legacy,” said David McManus, General Manager of The Empire Hotel. “We are confident that Moises de la Renta’s fresh look for the Hera, Juno and Eris dresses will help take our Fashion Week ambassador program to the next level. His design vision aligns with our hotel and brand and we look forward to continuing this collaboration.”

A companion online auction powered by leading charity auction site charitybuzz.com will be open from Thurs Sept 8th – Tues Sept 27th at www.charitybuzz.com/HotelEmpire. Winners can bid to receive several amazing auction packages donated by Moises de la Renta and the Empire Hotel to benefit a cause important to the designer. Net proceeds from the sale of each package will go to Hogar del Niño, an organization offering programs designed to prevent child abuse and provide a safe haven for abused and at-risk children.

The Empire Hotel’s Fashion Week Ambassador program will be taken one step further this season with models showcasing pieces from Moises de la Renta’s previous collections while posing and walking atop the marquis that hangs above the hotel’s grand entrance.

Packages include: Juno dress, One night stay at the hotel during February Fashion Week and two Empire Hotel Fashion Week cocktails valued at $1,729; Hera dress, the original sketch autographed by the designer himself and two Empire Hotel Fashion Week cocktails valued at $1,229; The Eris dress; one night stay at the hotel during February Fashion Week, A private Fashion Consultation with Moises, and two Empire Hotel Fashion Week cocktails valued at $2,229.

The Empire Hotel is also bringing back its delicious Fashion Week cocktail menu so fashionistas alike can sip on their desired recipes to de-stress.
