On Sunday October the 25th, a group of 28 Casa de Campo parents and their Jonas Brother crazy kids, set off to Santo Domingo, to see the infamous Jonas Brothers in concert.
Here is one mother’s story of this eventful day:
We set off to Santo Domingo on a bus (all 28 of us!!) at 1:30 pm so we could be at the Estadio Olympico very early since the concert started at 6:30 p.m.
We arrived at 3:00 p.m only to find that the doors were still closed (surprise, surprise) and the line was a mile long! In the scorching heat we waited ……and waited ……and waited some more….And finally after 2 hours in line, a dark-windowed jeepeta pulled into the parking lot – to be greeted by hundreds of screaming girls, all screaming for their beloved Jonas Brothers, but it turned out – it wasn’t even them!
Anyway, we finally got in after 3 hours of pushing, screaming and fighting! The kids were exhausted and moaning:
«Mom, we are sooo far that we will not be able to see anything!» The place was packed! While we waited for the
concert to start, the kids wanted pizza, water, coke! Then, it started to rain- thank God for the pizza boxes! And please don’t mention bathrooms!! Horror!!
Finally, THE JONAS BROTHERS appeared!!!!!!!!!! What excitment, what noise, applause, tears, joy, shouting, and the moms…..sitting and staring, stunned into silence!
The concert itself was great! The kids did not sit back down once it started – they enjoyed every minute of it. The Jonas Brothers really gave them a fantastic show.
We decided to go 10 minutes before the concert ended to avoid the stampead and the kids were hating us for it, but we go out in the nick of time!
Now back to La Romana…… everyone on the bus……hungry, tired, sleepy: pass the sandwiches, pass the chips, I want coke, I want water!! So finally after about half an hour on the bus all the kids fell asleep and some parents too (including me!)
I am exhausted! I hope I don’t have to go to another concert for about 10 more years!! Having said that I just heard Hannah Montana is coming in November so………. who knows?
