Happy Valentines Day! 'Amar es apoyarse en los buenos y malos momentos'

Happy Valentines Day everyone! Today to celebrate the most romantic day of the year, Philip and I decided to allow the Listin Diario to publicly declare our love for us in a seriously cringe-worthy and loved up article!

Today, Monday the 14th of February (otherwise known as Valentines day) in the ‘Sociales’ section of the Listin Diario (one of the Dominican Republic’s national papers) is a full page article about Philip and I and our love story! Cringe!Accompanying our beautiful tale of love at first sight (sigh), romance and our hopes of a future together is a full page photo of the 2 of us – which thankfully I do look good in (even though it is a little ‘showy’ and Philip looks like he’s hiding behind me!)

Ok, Ok I admit – I love it! I feel like a celebrity! So when Maritza Morillo, the ‘periodista’ contacted me to ask if we would do the interview my answer was ‘yes please’ and I went ahead to make the arrangements for the photo shoot and interview….it didn’t occur to me to check with Philip, until Maritza suggested that maybe that would be a good idea! So when I told/asked Philip his response was ‘hell no’ and my response was well ‘yes please’ and after some debate, cajoling and the good old ‘no press is bad press’ argument, Philip agreed!

Once everyone was agreed, Maritza came to visit Philip and I in Altos de Chavón for the photo shoot, which I loved and Philip begrudgingly took part in. Now I have some lovely photos, which I have already sent to my Grandparents in England and that I can frame and decorate the house with and I know that Philip is just going to LOVE that!

During the photo shoot Maritza took the opportunity to ask us a few questions……mainly about marriage and babies, which of course Philip was a little uncomfortable with, but he managed to answer her questions in true politician-style with ‘we are very happy together right now and if that is where the future takes us then we will be very happy to go there too.’
