marocha_top Its not everyday we talk about happy hours, as pretty much everyone has them. But we recently went to Marocha Steak to try out the happy hour special and where pleasantly surprised to find that this really is quite the delightful place for an after work, or after golf cocktail and perhaps a light bite. Situated in the Plaza Portofino in the Marina Casa de Campo, opposite its sister restaurant Pepperoni, Marocha surly has the pedigree to be a fantastic establishment. From the outside, Marocha Steak looks like a great steak house, with the facade, tables and ambiance hinting and suggesting a good piece of meat is waiting for you.  Once you step inside however, all doubt is gone. Plush leather chairs, a warm soft steak house lighting, everything sense is activated enticing you to order a juicy steak. As you step in, a full leather sofa sits next to what must be Casa de Campo’s most complete bar – oh the wonderful selections of scotches plainly says ‘Welcome to Marocha Steak, would you like a scotch before your meat?’ The answer is an enthusiastic ‘yes please’. From the couch, the view of the docks, boats and sunset is sublime. While the plan was not to eat, the scotch on the rocks, which was of decent pour, quickly convinced me that a sample to nibble on was called for; for research purposes of course. So we ordered. The sausages, which where absolutely delicious, came in a nice appetizer size, which provided the much needed savory treat for our taste buds. Next up where the mini burgers. What can I say about the mini burgers, they where spectacular! The meat was perfectly seasoned, delicious and springy.  My only complaint is that I wanted more! I’ve dreamt about those two mini burger many times in hopes that maybe an full size burger may one day make it onto the menu. With drinks at a two for one, we enjoyed a few rounds of ‘conversation’, the relaxing ambiance and a wonderful sunset, while still enjoying the conditioned air an escaping from the summer warmth. Happily we can recommend Marocha Steak as an ideal location to go for a happy hour treat.
