The 2009-2010 polo season will begin on Nov. 17 with practice matches on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturdays. Our first tournament will be during the Xmas Holidays – our full Polo Tournament schedule will be published soon.
This season we have made many improvements to our polo facility, the largest being two new irrigation wells to provide adequate water to our fields. With the new watering and irrigation system we are now able water and fertilize our fields on an as needed basis allowing us to compete in the world market with world-class facilities.
We are also improving our polo pony herd and will be able to offer to both local and international players much better horses for them to rent and play during their time in Casa de Campo, as well as offering a select group of polo ponies every year for sale to the international market. This will allow us to attract a larger market share of players, that would otherwise go to Florida or Argentina instead for their polo vacations.
This season we have already confirmed that several of the best players in the world will be coming to Casa de Campo this winter to play some exhibition matches. This along with our current line up of local and international players should make the 2010 season very exciting.
During the season we will be playing indoor polo on Friday nights in the rodeo arena under the lights, which will be complimented by an Argentinean ASADO/BBQ and bar. We hope that our local residents and hotel guests will make this part of their weekend schedule as it is very fast paced and fun polo, which coupled with the close proximity of the spectators to the players should provide a great atmosphere.
