Franco de Vita in Concert in Altos de Chavón!

 September in Casa de Campo is the month of concerts in Altos de Chavón – on Sunday the 4th of September there is the STING concert and we have just heard that on Saturday the 17th of September there is a Franco de Vita concert!

Franco de Vita, from Venezuela is a popular singer-songwriter of Latin music and is being brought to perform in Altos de Chavón as part of his ‘En Primera Fila’ tour by Saymon Diaz concerts (let’s hope he doesn’t suffer the same fate as Alejandro Fernandez who is yet to materialize…)

With almost three decades of experience and more than 20 million copies sold, people have been enjoying the music of Franco de Vita since the 1980’s.

Successes like “No basta”, “Cálido y frío”, “Un buen perdedor,” “Louis,” “Tú de qué vas” and Te amo” is part of the repertoire of this tour. As well as unreleased tracks like “Tan sólo tú”, a duet he recorded with the Mexican star Alejandra Guzman and  “Mira más allá”. De Vita will perform at Altos de Chavon accompanied by an orchestra comprising of select 15 musicians.

Franco De Vita (born January 23, 1954 in Caracas, Venezuela) is a singer-songwriter of Latin music. His first disc as a solo artist garnered three Spanish-language hits in Venezuela. He signed with the Sony label in 1988, and in 1990, his album Extranjero had a song that reached No. 1 on the U.S. Latin charts and won an MTV Video Music Award. His 2004 album Stop reached the Top 10 throughout Latin America and on the U.S. Latin charts.

The tickets are already on sale, so it seems rather likely that this Franco de Vita concert will go ahead, however you never know what may happen! Saymon Diaz concerts has not had the best luck with concerts in Altos de Chavón recently – in recent times 3 other Saymon Diaz concerts were sadly postponed; the first was Kenny G, postponed in November 2009 due to the ‘current world economic crisis’, then in November 2010 Yanni was postponed due to ‘bad weather’ and then this year the Alejandro Fernandez was postoned due to ‘inconveniences with the artists agenda.’ They say bad things always happen in 3’s so let’s hope the Franco de Vita concert goes ahead as planned!
