Tomorrow, Tuesday the 18th of May is Internacional Museum Day and the Altos de Chavon museum ‘Arqueológico Regional’ is hosting a special event to celebrate.
The event will be from 9am through to 1pm at the Archeological museum (Museo Arqueológico Regional Altos de Chavon) in Altos de Chavon and will essentially be a program of activities for the local schools as well as the general public.
The museum will be recreating some scenes from the Taino Indian group that occupied the island when it was first discovered.
The museum is also expecting the elementary school Mercedes Laura Aguiar from La Romana, whose students will perform representations of the Taino Indians in the form of dance, poetry contests, storytelling, rock art and even music.
