Last week on Tuesday the 29th of June, my darling brother Craig and his friend Ian arrived into Casa de Campo from England, with high expectations of a sun-filled seaside holiday with plenty of partying and hopefully a few chance encounters with some lovely ladies.
Of course what Craig and Ian didn’t know is that June/July isn’t exactly Casa de Campo’s high season and the likelihood of meeting anyone, let alone any lovely ladies was pretty slim…….and yet much to my surprise, the boys managed to meet just about everyone in Casa de Campo and did more than their fair share of partying!
Although their adventures started on Wednesday when they met a honeymoon couple at the Marina Casa de Campo, which for reasons I can’t understand they were excited about, the rest of this article and these photos were taken from our Thursday Night at Onno’s Bar.
The evening started with a few Margaritas and some onion rings for nutrition, and progressed into more Margaritas, a few shots and I think even a few more onion rings…..before we knew it Craig was on the dance floor surrounded by admiring beautiful ladies (see top photo), DJ Oz was on the ‘decks’ and our quiet night had turned into a party! Here’s how the evening unfolded in photos:

Of course, being ‘old’ and having to work the following day – after all Philip and I had a Hoedown to plan, we left early, so how the rest of the night turned out we don’t know!
Craig, despite his first class honours degree in economics, being a chartered tax advisor (posh city job) and four years experience at one of the ‘Big Four’, failed to grasp even the most basic of Spanish. Conversations such as the following were commonplace! “Hola Archimedes, oh hola Craig….como estas?, (Craig thinks for while..) Buenos Dias!?” And “au revoir Ruben”…..but well at least he tried! That said he seemed to have mastered «Donde esta Disco» within five minutes of stepping off the aeroplane…funny that! Craig during his time in Casa de Campo (understandably) fell in love with all of Casa de Campo’s charms and has since then promised to return, although I am slightly concerned about his lack of Spanish….. Despite his late nights and evening socialising, the duo were always up at sunrise ready to help me and Philip, to accompany me on real estate tours, and the even take our little dog Leila for her morning walks! I’d like to thank Craig (and Ian too) for all their hard work flyering, setting up the Hoedown, and taking the occasional picture….it was great to have you over and look forward to your return (whenever that may be!?)
