Last Friday evening, June 10th, the Abraham Lincoln School in Central Romana in La Romana celebrated their 2011 gradution ceremony at Casa de Campo’s Flamboyant Conference Center. The Ceremony, which began at 7:30pm was packed with the students and teachers of the Abraham Lincoln School and of course the proud parents, family and friends of the graduating seniors.
It was a wonderful ceremony, with singing, a poem recital and of course a number of beautiful and moving speeches, given by the students, Mr Magee, the school’s headmaster and various dignitaries from the La Romana community.
At the end of the ceremony the graduating students received their graduation diplomas from the director of the school board, Dr Leonardo Matos Garcia and headmaster Mr Harry Magee, while the guests looked on teary eyed and full of pride. The former students then proudly paraded out of the hall, arm in arm on to a bright future, a well deserved celebratory toast with their parents, family, friends and former teachers, before they disappeared into the night to the Marina Casa de Campo were they celebrated with a graduation party called ‘ODYSSEY 2011.’
Congratulations to the Abraham Lincoln School class of 2011!
Here are a few photos from the graduation ceremony and a few others of party goers in the Marina Casa de Campo on their way up the Paseo del Mar to the Victory Club where ‘ODYSSEY 2011’ was being held…..
