As yet we have not received the ‘fixed’ menu, but below are photos and descriptions of the dishes we tried, which will make up part of the Menu Japonesa:
ENSALADA DE ALGAS (Seaweed Salad)
I absolutely LOVE seaweed so for me this salad was delicious! With a very generous helping of seaweed and delicately flavoured with a light dressing this was a great way to start our meal!
TATAKI DE TUNA DELICIOUS!!!!!! So tender and perfectly accompanied by soy sauce, sesame seeds and chives.WOW!
The ‘Susana’ sushi roll
This was quiet possibly the nicest Sushi roll I have ever tasted, (although I admit I have not eaten a huge about of Sushi!) With crab and salmon centre and topped with sweet plantain (platano maduro) – a heavenly mix of sweet and savoury!
SOPA MISU / Misu soup
Having never actually tried Misu soup before (hard to believe I know), I thought it was very nice!
CAMARON TEMPURA / Tempura Shrimp
Served with a delicious helping of tempura vegetables, this Tempura Shrimp was very good – I especially liked the Tempura Sweet Potato.
SOBA: VEGETALES CON TALLARINES FRITO / Stir-fry vegetable noodles
A kind of Japanese ‘Pad-Thai’ this dish was light and tasted despite being ‘fried.’
FILETE DE RES CON SALSA PONSU / Filete of Beef with Ponsu sauce
The beef was very tender and juicy with a slightly spicy sauce, which was the ideal compliment to the meat.
YAKITORI DE POLLO CON VEGETALES / Chicken Yakitori Kebabs
These chicken kebabs came glazed with a Japanese-style sauce and with a helping of fresh vegetables.
Our verdict? LOVED it and we are very much looking forward to Japanese night!
