This holiday season Altos de Chavon is going to be the place to be and be merry! A whole host of activities, events, shows and displays have been organised and will be happening all through the rest of December – with a few special guest visits from the man of the moment – Santa Claus!
Here is the schedule of events, as provided by the Casa de Campo hotel. Don’t forget – all Casa de Campo events are in our calendar, which can be found at the top of the page, it’s the ideal way to keep track of what’s going on!

Friday, December 18th – the inauguration of Christmas!

There will be music, decorations, a children’s activity corner, visits and photos with Santa Claus and more.

7:30 PM – Santa Claus comes to Chavón!
Santa and his elves arrive to greet the children and their camera-toting accompanying adults. So children and adults…don’t forget to bring your letters!

8:00 PM – Christmas Lighting Ceremony
It’s the official ceremony to launch the holiday season with the lighting of our holiday decorations and our breathtaking tree in the Chavón Plaza. Enjoy the sounds of the Dominican Youth Symphonic Orchestra and the Lyric singers Antonia Chabebe y Otilio Castro from Compañía Lírica Nacional, both part of Secretary of State of Culture, as they present a variety of holiday carols and old favorites.

Sunday, December 20th

5 PM: Catholic Mass, St. Stanislaus Church

6 PM – 6:45 PM: Santa Clauss at Altos de Chavón

6:30 PM – 7:30 PM: Holiday Musical Concert at Plaza Chavón. Enjoy the sounds of the Children’s Choir “Angeles Cantores” under the direction of Professor Marianela Sanchez.

Monday, December 21st

5 PM – 7 PM: Santa Claus at Altos de Chavón

9 PM: KANDELA! The Show live at the Amphitheatre. Musical extravaganza with 50 dancers who will showcase the rhythms and music of the islands! Tickets may be purchased from Casa de Campo Concierge or at the amphitheatre ticket office.

Wednesday, December 23rd

5 PM – 7:00 PM: Santa Claus at Altos de Chavón – last chance to visit St. Nick before Christmas!

Thursday, December 24th

9 PM – 10 PM: Holiday Carols by the Coro Madrigalistas, under the direction of Professor Andres Capellan , at the Chavón Plaza

10 PM: Catholic Mass, St. Stanislaus Church

Friday, December 25th – Merry Christmas!
An afternoon and evening for the entire family to enjoy a time of worship, wonder, fun, music and dancing at the Altos de Chavón Plaza. Bring your dancing shoes! It’s a celebration… it’s Christmas!

5:30 PM: Catholic Mass, St. Stanislaus Church

6:30 – 7 PM: Live Nativity. Bring the entire family to see this recreation of a
time in history that changed the world. It’s the birth of Jesus and the celebration of Christmas.

7 PM – 7:30 PM: Santa Arrives! He greets the children with holiday treats!

7 PM – 9 PM: Dominican Christmas Celebration. Slip on your dancing shoes and enjoy the holiday sounds of Grupo Faena as they play traditional Christmas merengue rhythms.

Saturday, December 26th

5:00 PM: Catholic Mass, St. Stanislaus Church

7 PM – 8 PM: Letters to the Thee Kings! Take part and enjoy this Dominican tradition to drop off your holiday wish list to the Three Magic Kings!

8 PM – 9 PM: Holiday Jazz Concert. Enjoy the sounds of David Amengod and his group.

Sunday, December 27th

5:00 PM: Catholic Mass, St. Stanislaus Church

6:00 – 7:00 PM: Letters to the Thee Kings! Take part and enjoy this Dominican tradition to drop off your holiday wish list to the Three Magic Kings!

7:30 – 9:30 p.m: Dominican Christmas celebration
Los Paymasi will play traditional Christmas merengues so bring your dancing shoes for a fun traditional Christmas party.

Monday, December 28th

6:30 PM – 7:30 PM: Live Nativity by MIR Children’s Charity
The children from two of the programs of the Mission International Rescue (MIR) charity in La Romana (the School of New Hope and the Vocational School) present a special Christmas play with the arrival of Baby Jesus and traditional carols. Cookies, hot chocolate and ginger tea will be on sale with all profits going to these schools

9 PM: KANDELA! The Show! Live at the amphitheater.
Tickets may be purchased from Casa de Campo Concierge or at the amphitheatre ticket office.

Tuesday, December 29th

8 PM – 9 PM: Dominican Country Night
Enjoy a traditional Dominican country party with dancing to the beat of a Scratch-Scratch band and a folkloric show by Ballet Tradiciones Dominicanas under the direction of Professor Maritza Reyes. The entire family can join the dancers for meringue lessons–and get ready for the coming of New Year’s Eve!

Wednesday, December 30th

8 PM: Paulina Rubio – Gran City Pop Tour – LIVE in concert at the amphitheatre. Tickets may be purchased from the Casa de Campo Concierge.
