Last Friday the 12th of August, the night before the Fundación MIR Family Weekend for Life event (click here for photos), the Casa de Campo community enjoyed a ‘Maridaje’ or ‘pairing’ featuring port, chocolate and cigars at the Casa Montecristo in Altos de Chavón.

This morning I woke up expecting to hear Hurricane Irene rattling the windows and pounding on the doors…..but nothing. Here in Casa de Campo the sky is blue and the sea is calm – is this the calm before the storm or has Hurricane Irene disappeared?
