This month’s Cafe de La Leche was held at the Casa de Campo villa of Malele Strofer and was a very pleasant event, well attended by many of Casa de Campo’s ladies – all more than happy to have fun whilst contributing to the Hogar del Niño.
Malele was a wonderful hostess who took very good care of all her guests and was very proud of her ‘sweets’ which she told me she made herself, I personally loved the ‘polvorones’ – so much so I ate 6! Malele was also very proud of her flower arrangements, which she had also done herself and they were gorgeous, as you can see in this photo:
For me this month’s Cafe de La Leche was all about the Hoedown (which took place the following day on Saturday, July the 3rd.), so in order to promote the Hoedown (and because it looked super cute) I was wearing my Cowboy hat!
The Cafe de La Leche is a monthly charity event, held for the Hogar del Niño, children’s day care centre and school, where ladies from Casa de Campo and La Romana get together over a cup of tea, wine, occasionally champagne, and a few nibbles. Each lady brings a donation of dried milk, cereals or baby formula, which is then used to feed the over 200 babies cared for in the Hogar del Niño everyday.
