Ok, for those of you who know me, I am the anti-party animal, preferring to chill and relax at home or homes of those friends closest to me. That said, the last couple of weeks have been insane, and I am glad to say that with no plans for the immediate future, I have a chance to rest and get re-centered. But that’s not the interesting or fun stuff you come to this blog to read about is it…. of course not…. you want the dirty little details…. well, I promise nothing sordid but I will let you know that while in Casa there is always a lot to do, provided your in good company.

So what about those last couple of crazy weeks you ask? Fine, I’ll tell you.

I’ve had two weeks where my liver has been put to the ultimate test, and it has survived, though I will be doing a little detox to get back into good form.

About two weeks ago a friend from ‘the city’ (NYC – for those not in the know), came to visit. Naturally this was a pure vacation for him, and boy did he want to a good time. Naturally, there is a somewhat limited set of activities to do during the low season, but this is no reason no to have a great time. By the time I was able to get out of work, I would pick up my friend who, after sleeping till 2pm, naturally had an abundance of energy and zest for going out…. so out we went. Papa Jacks, the new and groovy Naked Fish, Victory club and on and on… sufficient to say that with by the his last day, we ended up fishing at 8am (how I woke up in time is still a mystery). In short, all things to do where done. Success… High-five!

So fishing we went, on a tiny chartered fishing boat, the ‘Scorpion’… Averaging a beer every 15 minutes till 1pm, we where in rare form. Unfortunately we caught nothing… though that did not stop us from heading to Pepperoni to satisfy our craving for fish, which after seeing the menu, quickly turned into a craving for steak – rib eye to be exact. Not bad. Not bad at all, though a little fattier than would have been ideal, but given our current state, it was still good.

My friend was leaving from Santo Domingo, so we headed back home to give him a chance to shower and pack… this turned into jumping into the pool and enjoying two bottles of wine under a most gorgeous of days.
