The Fundacion MIR: press conference for the ‘Magical Splendor for Life’ weekend

One of the MOST glamourous events of the Casa de Campo social calendar, the Fundacion MIR’s ‘Magical Splendor for Life’ gala is this Saturday the 13th of March. Yesterday Lian Fanjul and her daughter Lyanne Azqueta Fanjul held a press conference at the Fundacion MIR’s vocational school for boys.

During the press conference Lian Fanjul spoke about the Fundacion MIR, the charity which she founded and it’s wonderful work educating La Romana’s children as well as caring for women and children living with HIV and AIDs. During the press conference the ladies took a tour of the Fundacion MIR’s boy’s vocational school – where boys are taught important trades such as carpentry, electrics, working with air conditioning systems and much more. Here is a photo of some of the boys working in one of the labs:

This weekend – the Fundacion MIR’s ‘Magical Splendor for Life’ weekend is one of the Fundacion MIR’s main fundraising events of the year – last year over $200,000 dollars was raised.  This year the main event the ‘Magical Splendor for Life’ gala is taking place in Altos de Chavon, where guests will be treated to a dinner catered by Le Cirque, a catwalk show from Lanvin and a Praia after party.
