This weekend is the Fundacion MIR Family Weekend for Life, a fundraising event for the Fundacion MIR with tennis and golf tournaments, followed by a dinner and awards ceremony on Minitas Beach, which will come to a spectacular close with an After Party with DJ Gringo! As I have already reported, as part of the evening soiree the Casino Diamante Dominicus-Bayahibe will be creating a ‘faux-casino’ read on to find out how this will work.
The Casino Diamante Dominicus-Bayahibe will set up what will essentially resemble a casino area with Poker, Chemin de Fer and Black Jack. A player will then ‘buy-in’ to one (or more) of these games and prizes NOT money will be awarded to the winners. There are 11 prizes in total which have been donated by generous businesses, prizes include 140 Montecristo #1 cigars donated by the CasaMontecristo (value US$1,700), a bottle of Johnny Walker Blue Label (values USD$650), and a massage at the Cygalle Healing Spa in Casa de Campo (values USD$150), as well as many other great prices!!
The minimum buy-in for each game is as follows: Poker: USD$100 Chemin de Fer: USD$100 Black Jack: USD$25

The Fundacion MIR Family Weekend for Life is being held to benefit the Fundacion MIR, a non-profit organization which works to provide eduction and health services to the children and people of La Romana most in need. To read more about the Fundacion MIR, click here.
NOTE: ‘faux-casino’ is NOT a real phrase, it is something I came up with for the purpose of this article. It means ‘like a casino but not really a casino.’
