Sound the bells! Bang the Drum! Oneburger is coming to town (Altos de Chavón) and they will be opening their doors to the public this week on Thursday the 27th of January!

After months of waiting and excitement Oneburger will be open from Thursday lunchtime serving their full menu of delicious beef burgers, veggie burgers, chicken burgers, soup of the day, salads, milkshakes as well as delicious sides dishes: french fries (homemade), yuca fries, sweet potato fries and giant onion rings!

For quality control purposes Oneburger has been and is, this week hosting a number ‘tastings’ for select members of the Casa de Campo community to get an advance preview of their mouthwatering burgers.

Yesterday, we Casa de Campo Living (Philip and I) joined Oneburger founder the debonair and dashing Danny Guiteras and the the Altos de Chavón branch owners Joe Senior and Joe Junior for the very first tasting and were privaleged to enjoy the very first Oneburger served in the new Altos de Chavón Oneburger and it was delicious!

Throughout the afternoon we tasted 3 different types of burgers;

1. The Left Bank (US$6.95)
Brie Cheese, Dijion Mustard, Sweet Red Onion
Amazing, I absolutely loved it, the combination sounded strange when I read it, but tasted delicious.

2. Bacon and Cheese Burger (US$4 or about RD$150)
Although this burger is not on the printed menu it will always be available and always at the very competitive price of US$4. The patty was juicy and delicious and the bacon was excellent, very very nice.
UPDATE: This burger is now called «The One» (USD$4)
American cheese, ketchup, yellow mustard, chopped raw onion and pickle. (extras: .50 cents)

3. Island Au Poivre (US$7.25)
Cracked black pepper rub, brie cheese, Atlantico rum/ Dijion glaze and a hand cut salty tostone!
A great Dominican-Caribbean twist on the standard au poivre – if you like tostones you will love this burger! The black pepper rub is like a black pepper steak sauce, which is surprisingly delicious when mixed with the brie and Atlantico rum (everyones favorite rum) and the tostone sits below the burger to add a touch of crispy salty yumminess. My favorite burger so far – it’s a little bit sweet, so a good one for the ladies!

Oneburger – opens THIS Thursday the 27th of January! We look forward to seeing you there!
