Last week I published a rumor alert, along the lines of “STING may be coming to Altos de Chavón” and as this rumor was something I literally just heard in passing, I honestly didn’t have much hope that it would come true….but it is true!! STING the great British legend will be here in Casa de Campo performing in the Altos de Chavón amphitheater on Sunday the 4th of September!!! WOOOOHOOOO!!!
STING’s first performance in the Dominican Republic in 2006 at the Altos de Chavón amphitheater was completely SOLD OUT and is a concert heralded by many as being one of Altos de Chavón’s all time best concerts, when STING rocked out to a crowd of an estimated 6,000 fans and was even accompanied by merengue and salsa legend Juan Luis Guerra.
This year’s performance, scheduled to take place in just over 1 month, looks set to be equally as popular and impressive with concert organizers Evenpro, promising a set to include STING’s most famous and well loved songs; “Every Little Thing She Does Is Magic”,“Roxanne ” and “Every Breath You Take” from the era of ‘The Police’ and “Englishman in New York”, “Fields of Gold” and “Desert Rose” from his career as a soloist.
In the upcoming concert on Sunday the 4th of July, STING will be performing with a band of 4 musicians; his old guitarist, Dominic Miller, keyboardist, David Sancious, drummer, Vinnie Colaiuta and singer, Jo Lawry.
This is one concert you cannot afford to miss – I guarantee it will be legendary!! Sooo excited!!
Although ticket prices have not yet been officially released, I phoned up and made some enquiries and was told the ticket prices for the STING concert in Altos der Chavón Casa de Campo, will be as follows:
HOWEVER – tickets are NOT yet being sold…..according to the Casa de Campo concierge they should be on sale from next week!

NOTE: Although we have received an official press release from Evenpro stating that the concert is scheduled and will go ahead – this information has not yet been confirmed officially by Altos de Chavón or Casa de Campo! Which means although it certainly does look very probable that STING is coming, there is a small chance that he may not come…..fingers crossed!!!
