The annual Dueños event organized by Costasur and Casa de Campo is a grand occasion, when Casa de Campo villa owners (dueños) are invited to enjoy Casa de Campo’s sporting facilities and a big dinner-party. This year, Dueños 2011 will take place on Saturday the5th of November!
This means that the entire weekend from Friday the 4th of November through to Sunday the 6th of November will essentially become ‘Dueños weekend’ with the ‘entrega de regalos’ (the giving out of the Dueños good bags) taking place on the Friday afternoon/evening, the sporting events taking place throughout the day on the Saturday and the dinner/party being held at the La Romana Country Club on the Saturday evening. Whilst on Sunday a spectacular family-orientated Casa de Campo Living event will take place – last year we did the ‘Bazaar Dueños’ and this year we are already planning something even bigger and better!
So what does the Dueños event involve? The following is a summary of every event that usually takes place during Dueños, with links to our articles from Dueños 2009 and 2010:

The ‘Entrega de Regalos’
The ‘Entrega de Regalos’ is essentially when Casa de Campo and Costasur distribute the Dueños goody bags, which usually contain Dueños caps, t-shirts and other things such as umbrellas. Last year to make this more interesting it was turned into a mini-event with activities for kids, picadera and potent rum cocktails!

Yoga on Playa Minitas
Yoga with the sunrise is an invigorating (and early) start to the Dueños day!

The Casathon
The Casathon is ‘ran’ on a 5km circuit, starting at Playa Minitas and looping around the centre of Casa de Campo to end back at the beach. For serious runners and those after the prizes is is sprinted or jogged, whilst other Dueños enjoy the event as a nice social stroll through Casa de Campo!

The Shooting Tournament
At the Casa de Campo Shooting Centre, participants have 25 chances to hit a moving target (skeet) with a shot gun!

The Tennis Tournament
The tournament is played as a round robin, so that every player, played every other player in his/her group and the winners were determined at the end.

Despite the rain, last year’s event was hugely successful and this year’s event looks set to be just as fun – put the date in your diary now, this is one party no-one wants to miss!
