The ‘World Cup’ of Polo is taking place in Casa de Campo NOW! Over the next 2 weeks, the world’s very best polo players from Mexico, Guatemala, the USA, Canada and the DR will be competing against one another in the FIP World Championship Play-Offs.
FIP, stands for the Federation of International Polo and the FIP World Championship Play-Offs, for those of us who are not clued up when it comes to polo, are essentially the qualifiers for the ‘FIP World Championship’ – the ‘World Cup’ of the polo-playing world!
Playing this week are the top 7 polo players of their representative countries, thats 35 of the world’s best polo players – ladies and gentlemen this really is TOP CLASS POLO.
The FIP World Championship Play-Offs will be taking place starting from Friday the 6th of May through to May the 15th, with the actual ‘play-off’ matches taking place on the following days:
Friday May 6th, 5pm: Match #1, Guatemala vs. USA
Sunday May 8th, 11am Match #2, Guatemala vs. Canada
Tuesday May 10th, 5pm: Match #3, Canada vs. USA Followed by a Prize-Giving at 7pm!
Friday May 13th, 4.30pm: Match #4, Mexico vs. Dominican Republic
Sunday 14th, 4.30pm: Match #5, Mexico vs. Dominican Republic
Prize-giving ceremonies will take place on Tuesdays the 10th and 16th of May at 7pm at the Casa de Campo Polo Fields.
