On Saturday the 19th of February, the Hogar del Niño and the Casa de Campo community gathered together at the La Romana Country Club for the dinner-dance party, to celebrate the end of a very successful fundraising weekend, which encompassed a variety of sporting activities; golf, tennis, cycling, and polo, as well as a tour of the Hogar del Niño, a Home and Gardens tour and a cocktail at the Diagnostica Social. The evenings activities began from 7:30pm, when the Hogar del Niños many guests flooded into the beautifully decorated La Romana Country Club, to enjoy a fun evening among friends and fellow supporters of the Hogar del Niño. As the evening progressed, the many guests tucked into their dinner and an awards ceremony took place led by Xiomara Matos, the President of the Patronato Benefico Oriental (the umbrella organisation for the Hogar del Niño), with Simon Lopez of the Cañeros awarding prizes for the bike marathon and Gilles Gagnon, Casa de Campo’s golf director awarding the prizes for the golf with the help of Bibi Leon who had donated the decorative plates.
