Oneburger, the new gourmet burger restaurant in Altos de Chavón officially opened its doors to the public on Thursday the 27th of January and following a slight delay (my apologies), here we bring you our photos of the opening evening and a little bit of news about some menu changes (they are about to lower prices) and another restaurant opening soon….. Following an advance tasting on Wednesday the 26th of January for a few special Casa de Campo Living readers, Oneburger officially opened it’s doors to the public on Friday the 27th of January and we were overwhelmed with the number of people who showed up and loved what this new restaurant has to offer! Many different members from the Casa de Campo community turned out to give the new burgers and delicious onion rings a try – from a big table of teenagers enjoying milkshakes with their burgers to tables of friends, parents and grandparents enjoying the burgers, salads and deserts accompanied by the delicious Onewine (house wine) and cocktails. Here are some of my photos taken of the burgers and salads in the first few days after Oneburger opened – delicious! Since the opening nearly a month ago, Oneburger has been making a number of changes to it’s menu and the dishes – based on feedback from the customers, here is my summary of the changes (so you will know what to expect): • Fries – the fries are no longer home-made, as many customers did not like the home-made fries as they were not very crispy. The fries now being served are standard frozen fries found in all restaurants. • Burger and fries – all burgers are available with FREE fries. However if you would like a different side with your burger, this will be charged as per the price on the menu. • The One – this special burger is not on the menu but is available (if you want it, just ask for it!). The One is only US$4 (aprox.RD$150) and is American cheese, ketchup, yellow mustard, chopped raw onion and pickle. (extras: .50 cents) • Menu changes – Oneburger are currently working on a new menu with reduced prices in pesos.
Gino’s opening soon!! Gino’s Italian restaurant is expected to open soon in Altos de Chavón! Gino’s, which will be ran by the same team as Oneburger will be in the same place as the old ‘Cafe del Sol’ pizzeria and will take advantage of the only brick pizza oven in Casa de Campo to create pizzas as delicious as those made in Rome!  Gino’s are busy creating a basic menu of delicious pastas pizzas and typically Italian appetizers! And having been lucky enough to go for a tasting on valentines day (so romantic), I can confirm that their pizzas really are delicious! Hurry up and open Gino’s – no more Italian time please!
And here finally are my photos from the opening night at Oneburger! [nggallery id=690]
