It is a truth universally acknowledged that a Casa de Campo lady is always well dressed and immaculately turned out and never is this more true than on a trip to Dominicana Moda in Santo Domingo!
On Thursday the 21st of October a large group of Casa de Campo ladies (no men this time) departed from the Casa de Campo hotel bright and early at 9.30am. Despite the early hour and the 2-hour bus ride to Santo Domingo – Casa de Campo’s ladies did not disappoint, and were as always looking stunning!
The beautiful bus ladies:
Arriving to the Hotel Embajador in Santo Domingo we were all in high spirits (having enjoyed just a few small glasses of champagne on the coach ride) and we were just in time for the fashion show to begin! Winding our way through the crowds and the many stand/stalls and displays of the events sponsors you could really feel a sense of excitement – the atmosphere was bustling and buzzing with anticpation!
Looking beautiful ladies!
Once inside the runway tent we all settled down and took our seats all excited for the shows to begin! The three runway shows were by Dominican designers; Jusef Sanchez, Juan Cotes and Jeanette Limas – all of which were excellent, with a perfect balance of extravagant gowns and designs, as well as more ‘real’ styles that real women could aspire to wear! My photos of the shows and more information on the designers will be published soon!
Xiomarita, Alexis and Lisete waiting for the shows to begin!
The fashion shows were great, but my VERY favourite part of the whole day was when 3 of our Casa de Campo ladies did their own fashion show! On a catwalk we found in the exhibition area – Thelma, Sorivel and Milagros strutted and posed to the whoops and cheers of passers by and the rest of our group! Bravo Girls!
On the catwalk…
After the fashion shows, with our fashion senses fully aroused our troupe of ladies went to shop at Blue Mall, which since it first opened a few months ago has continued to improve – with more and more shops opening and much more life filling this impressive and very modern space!
It was a long day of fun, giggles and fashion and best of all the money collected for the tickets was donated to the Hogar del Niño!
Here are the rest of my photos of this great day out! Many thanks to the Hogar del Niño for organising such a wonderful trip!
