TEAM MIR, an enthusiastic, hard working and philanthropic group of runners, who will be running the Chicago marathon next month on Sunday the 10th of October have already raised over US$500 in donations!

Team MIR ran the New York marathon last year and raised over US$1800, which was donated to the Fundacion MIR’s boy’s vocational school ‘MIR Esperanza’ and was used to buy new chalk boards for the new classrooms. To read about Team MIR and the NYC marathon, click here.

This time, Team MIR aim to raise $2,000 for the Fundacion MIR, which means they have just 3 weeks to raise another $1500! All donations big and small are VERY welcome so help this great cause and donate now!!

The Captain of TEAM MIR, Dino LaCapra says:
“I’m asking you again for your support and to donate $1 for each mile of the 26.2 mile Chicago Marathon that I will complete on October 10, 2010. The $26.20 is 100% tax deductible and 100% of the funds go to the continued efforts of Fundación MIR.”

Since 1990, we have served the women, youth and children of La Romana and the Eastern region of the Dominican Republic by partnering with and providing funding for social programs.
