Danilo Vicioso, Casa de Campo’s resident championship swimmer has just announced his latest in a very long line of achievements; gold, silver and bronze medals in the US Master Nationals Swimming Championships!
Here’s what Danilo has to say about this amazing winning streak!
This past August I participated in the US Master Nationals Swimming Championships in Indianapolis competing in my age group of 45 to 49 years where I won a gold, silver and bronze medals in the 200 & 100 meter backstroke and in the 200 meter fly respectively (www.usms.org). This annual meet brings together the best master swimmers of the US and with my results I was able to validate, in my age group, my 2008 TOP 10 World Ranking by the International Swimming Federation (FINA).
I would like to take this opportunity to sincerely thank Alfonso Paniagua and Tom Wahl for allowing me to practice at the pool of La Romana Country Club. A special thanks to Central Romana through Frank Micheli, who since my arrival to La Romana in 2001 has always helped me with the costs to participate in these international events and for the first time to Grupo Vicin, via Campos de Moyai. Without the financial help of these two groups I would have not been able to compete in Indianapolis. Lastly to all of you who encourage me when you see me at the pool, in person or via email. Thanks to you all!

Danilo is truely an inspiration to us all! To read more about Danilo, Masters swimming and see a few more photos click here to read our previous article on Danilo and his swimming acheivements!!
