Ginette d’Adesky is a Haitian native, a Casa de Campo villa owner and a proud Parisienne. During her time in Casa de Campo, Ginette has been know to host extravagant and glamourous parties….but here she shares with us a little of her time in Paris as well as some excellent insider recommendations and tips for some “off-the-beaten-track” places to experience!
During her time in France, Ginette and her partner Jerry hosted fellow Casa de Campo villa owners and friends, Roy and Norma Reubel on a French adventure, of some of her favorite places! So next time you’re visiting Paris and once you’ve done the Eiffel Tower, Montmartre and the Sacre Coeur, Ginette suggests you try the following places:
Giverny is a small town located about one hour outside of Paris, 80km to the West and can be visited from Paris by car, train, bus or guided tour. Giverny is most famous for being the home town of French Painter Claude Monet. In Giverny there are a number of excellent museums which Ginette recommends; “Musée de Vernon” and “Musée des Impressionnismes Giverny. However, Ginette’s “must-see” place to visit in Giverny is the park.

LE CHALET DES ISLES
“Le Chalet des Isles” is a restaurant in the Bois de Boulogne park in Paris, the restaurant itself is on a small island, so you have to take a water taxi to get there.
Ginette describes the restaurant as “very romantic with excellent food.”

“Bagatelle” is another of Ginette’s highly recommended restaurants, also in the Bois de Boulogne park in Paris. Most recently, Ginette and Jerry along with Roy and Norma enjoyed ice cream and coffee in their rose garden, which according to Ginette is “magnificent a must to see and visit.”
