Distinguished national and international experts will discuss the challenges facing AI development for humanity in the 21st century. The forum will feature the famous robot Sophia as a novelty. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The <strong>fourth edition of the forum will take place on Friday, April 14, 2023<\/strong>, and will be a hybrid event held at the Casa de Campo Resort and Villas&#8217; Marina Riverside Center from 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The event will be broadcast live on the digital platforms of the president of Funglode and former president of the Dominican Republic, Dr. Leonel Fern\u00e1ndez (@leonelfernandez), and Funglode (@funglode).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Dr. Marco Herrera,<\/strong> Funglode&#8217;s executive director, will introduce the meeting. Then Dr. Leonel Fern\u00e1ndez will explain the forum&#8217;s objectives with a reflection on the central theme, \u00abArtificial Intelligence: Progress or Threat to Humanity?\u00bb <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Dr. David Hanson, <\/strong>president of Hanson Robotics, a Hong Kong-based company that developed the robot, Sophia, will present on the topic \u00abHuman Emulation in AI and Robots for Artificial General Intelligence (AGI) and Machine Sentience Through Human-Like Embodiment and Integrative Humanities.\u00bb <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Sophia<\/strong>, a realistic humanoid capable of displaying human expressions and interacting with people, helps promote public debate on the ethics of AI and the future of robotics.
