Paul Chaplet de Costa Rica con el trofeo luego de ganar el Lat\u00edn Am\u00e9rica Amateur Championship 2016 en Casa de Campo el domingo 17 de enero, 2016. Enrique Berardi\/LAAC<\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\nPaul Chaplet, de Costa Rica y uno de los m\u00e1s j\u00f3venes jugadores del torneo, sorprendi\u00f3 a todo el mundo al consagrarse campe\u00f3n del Latin American Amateur Championship, LAAC, en Casa de Campo este a\u00f1o y ganando una invitaci\u00f3n a jugar en el Masters en abril.<\/span>\n\n\n\nEl ganador del LAAC Rep\u00fablica Dominicana <\/span>\u00a0<\/span>firm\u00f3 una tarjeta de 70 golpes (-2) y con un total de 285 (-3) \u00a0gan\u00f3 por un golpe al venezolano Jorge Garcia. Esto lo convierte en el primer Costarricense en jugar en el Masters.<\/span>\n\n\u201cNo lo puedo creer, esto es muy grande, muchas emociones juntas para describirlas con las palabras justas. Es un d\u00eda inolvidable, sab\u00eda que ten\u00eda una chance si ten\u00eda paciencia y confiaba en mi juego\u201d \u00a0<\/i><\/b>coment\u00f3 el visiblemente conmovido ganador de la segunda edici\u00f3n de LAAC, el evento m\u00e1s importante del golf amateur en Am\u00e9rica Latina.<\/span>\n\n

Paul Chaplet de Costa Rica Junto con el Sr. Alfonso Fanjul luego de ganar el Lat\u00edn Am\u00e9rica Amateur Championship 2016 en Casa de Campo el domingo 17 de enero, 2016. Enrique Berardi\/LAAC.<\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\nChaplet, adem\u00e1s de ganar una invitaci\u00f3n al Masters, aseguro un puesto en las competencias Amateurs en EE.UU. y Gran Breta\u00f1a y obtuvo exenciones para jugar las fases finales de clasificaci\u00f3n para el U.S. Open y el Open Championship en junio y julio respectivamente de este a\u00f1o, y todo otro campeonato amateur de la USGA para el cual sea elegible.\n\nPor otra parte, Jorge Garcia ganador del segundo lugar, obtuvo un puesto en las etapas finales de clasificaci\u00f3n para jugar el The Open y el U.S. Open 2016.\n\nFue una incre\u00edble ronda final donde los jugadores estuvieron a la altura de los hoyos m\u00e1s dif\u00edciles del Teeth of the Dog, con los nervios y la adrenalina surcando por sus venas, Chaplet y Garc\u00eda lucharon hasta el final.\n
Es una oportunidad como ninguna otra en esta vida el ser capaz de jugar en uno de los principales eventos, ni siquiera un evento regular del PGA Tour; es todo por lo cual se sue\u00f1a a los 16.\u00a0– Paul Chaplet<\/strong><\/blockquote>\nEMBED VIDEO:<\/strong> http:\/\/www.laacgolf.com\/chaplet-has-game-well-beyond-his-years\/<\/span><\/a>\n\n\u201cEn 2012 fue la primera que vi el Masters por televisi\u00f3n, cuando gan\u00f3 Bubba Watson. Enrique Berardi\/LAAC.<\/em><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\nFundado por el Masters, el R&A y USGA, y como mencionamos en el art\u00edculo anterior, las dos razones principales por las cuales crearon el Latin American Amateur Championship, fueron: (1) Para darle una oportunidad, una \u00e1rea un torneo para los jugadores amateur elite en Am\u00e9rica Latina, y (2) Desarrollar e inspirar el juego con esperanzas de ver los resultados en los a\u00f1os venideros.\u00a0<\/span>\n
