A medida que se aproxima al hoyo #15, lo primero que ver\u00e1 al conducir su carrito de golf por caminos bordeados con bamb\u00fa a la izquierda y el antiguo hogar de Oscar De La Renta a la derecha, ser\u00e1n las impresionantes aguas cristalinas del mar Caribe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

Con las olas del mar Caribe rompiendo en el lado derecho del hoyo \u2013 incluyendo el green, el hoyo #15 es indudablemente uno de los m\u00e1s espectaculares y dif\u00edciles del Teeth of the Dog. Una vez haya dejado de admirar la vista y est\u00e9 listo para volver al juego, es normal que se sienta un poco intimidado mientras su caddy le entrega su driver.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Aqu\u00ed algunos tips para hacer que sus recuerdos de este hoyo sean tan dulces como su vista.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

1.) \u00a1Mant\u00e9ngase alejado del mar!<\/b><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Un hoyo costero es lo m\u00e1s desalentador para los jugadores de mayor handicap que parten la bola. Le recomiendo dos cosas: a) Ubicar su objetivo a la izquierda. b) \u00a1Tomar una de mis clases para poder frenar esa rebanada! Para todos los jugadores, obviamente, un tiro a la derecha (directamente en el mar) terminar\u00eda en un doble bogey o m\u00e1s, lo que hace la izquierda, una opci\u00f3n obvia \u2013 \u00a1Especialmente porque la mayor\u00eda de las personas no se dan cuenta de la cantidad de espacio que tienen a la izquierda! S\u00ed, hay bunkers en el camino y un par de \u00e1rboles problem\u00e1ticos, pero mire el lado bueno \u2013 no perder\u00e1 2 tiros ni una bola PRO V1 de US$5! As\u00ed que apunte hacia la izquierda y juegue sin preocupaciones.<\/p>\n\n\n

2) Seleccione el palo adecuado desde el tee<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

\u00a1El metraje de este hoyo es muy corto! Sin importar cu\u00e1n largo o corto sea su tiro desde el tee, elija una madera, h\u00edbrido o uno hierro largo con el que se sienta m\u00e1s seguro. Juegue inteligentemente, es mucho mejor tener que hacer un tiro de m\u00e1s con un hierro largo al green, que tener que hacerlo y adem\u00e1s tener un golpe de penal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

3.) Acercamiento al green<\/b><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Digamos que ha hecho una buena jugada desde el tee y se encuentra en el fairway. No importa qu\u00e9 tan alejado se encuentre del green, debe: a) Tomar un palo extra. b) Una vez m\u00e1s ubicar su objetivo a la izquierda, debido a que el mar Caribe se cuela nuevamente en frente (y alrededor) del green.<\/p>\n\n\n

4.) \u00bfHacer chipping? Intente hacer putting desde el Green<\/b><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Un tip r\u00e1pido para el green es utilizar el putter. Por ejemplo, suponiendo que haya tomado en cuenta los consejos anteriores y que haya terminado justo a la izquierda y sobre la zanja en el green, hay dos fallos o errores muy comunes que comete la gente: a) Pegan de lleno o pegan detr\u00e1s de la pelota, lo que provoca que la bola ruede por la pendiente o b) \u201cthey catch the ball thin\u201d<\/em> y la bola se desliza hacia los \u201cDientes de Perro\u201d<\/em> (Teeth of the Dog) \u2013 las rocas puntiagudas que se hallan debajo. Evite estos dos escenarios al utilizar el putter para hacer avanzar la bola en el green.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

5.) \u201cPutting\u201d<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

El green #15 es \u00fanico. Es bastante amplio, pero corto desde la parte frontal hasta la trasera. Existen tres porciones en este green en las que realmente debe pensar al momento de decidir en qu\u00e9 lugar quiere que caiga su bola. La parte frontal izquierda del green se desliza hacia el mar, por lo que un tiro debajo del hoyo ser\u00eda ideal. La porci\u00f3n centrar tiene forma de taz\u00f3n y hace que las bolas rueden hasta un punto muerto. El lado derecho es simplemente un no \u2013 \u00e9sta es la porci\u00f3n m\u00e1s peque\u00f1a y se encuentra en la cima. Para conquistar este hoyo, se necesita de mucho coraje, y si se siente lo suficientemente audaz, recuerde llevar un palo extra cuando vaya a tirar para llegar al green.<\/p>\n\n\n
