Tropical Storm Isaac has now passed by the Dominican Republic and is on it\u2019s way towards Florida.<\/p><p>Here in Casa de Campo, sports facilities, services and restaurants are reopened with the exception of the Teeth of the Dog golf course \u2013 which is currently being clear-up as it was damaged by the storm surge.<\/p><p><em><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/casadecampoliving.com\/2012\/08\/tropical-storm-isaac-in-casa-de-campo\/\">For more photos and more about Tropical Storm Isaac in Casa de Campo, CLICK HERE!<\/a><\/strong><\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>We thought it was over, but whilst everyone was busy talking about how \u201cTropical Storm Isaac\u201d was headed for Haiti, Cuba and then Florida \u2013 Isaac had other plans. Although the \u201ccenter\u201d of Tropical Storm Isaac is indeed headed in that direction, the \u201ctail end\u201d of the storm is whipping across the Dominican Republic \u2013 with heavy rains and very high winds. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<!--more-->\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/casadecampoliving.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/tropical_storm_isaac10.jpg?resize=650%2C371&amp;ssl=1\" alt=\"tropical storm isaac\" class=\"wp-image-56820\" title=\"tropical_storm_isaac\" height=\"371\" width=\"650\"\/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\"><strong>The tail end of Tropical Storm Isaac headed for the Dominican Republic<\/strong><br>\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>So although you may well have already noticed that the weather is rather grim right now \u2013 the point of this update is really to let you know that this is just the START of the bad weather \u2013 because as the \u201ctail end\u201d (picture above) spins around the center, it looks likely that it will cross the Dominican Republic \u2013&nbsp;so stay in-doors and put down plenty of towels for those leaky windows and doors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The following unpleasant weather conditions are predicted throughout the Dominican Republic (and especially along the Eastern coast) for the next 24 to 48 hours:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2022 heavy rain<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2022 high winds<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2022 dangerous and strong waves (which we certainly saw evidence of on the Teeth of the Dog, Minitas Beach, the Marina Casa de Campo and at numerous ocean-side private villas today \u2013 incredible photos and videos coming soon!)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>And in case you need reminding, the results of this nasty weather could include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2022 flooding and flash floods (in previous years we have seen the Chav\u00f3n river burst it\u2019s banks)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2022 mudslides<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2022 damage to roads, wooden buildings etc<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>P.S<\/strong> Again I am NOT an expert \u2013 I am just doing my best to summarize and make sense of all the hurricane and tropical storm news out there.
