The event which raised funds for the&nbsp;Fundaci\u00f3n&nbsp;MIR charity, which provides education for children in the La Romana area, was well attended by many Casa de Campo villa owners, guests and vistiors, who enjoyed a fun day and a sparkling evening dinner gala.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<!--more-->\n\n\n\n<p>The following is a brief summary of the&nbsp;Fundaci\u00f3n&nbsp;MIR Family Weekend For Life event, accompanied by a selection of our photos, I will be following this article up with many more photos and a few more juicy details of each of the&nbsp;activities!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The day started at 9AM at the La Terraza Tennis Club in Casa de Campo, where competitors of the tennis tournament battled it out to become the champion of their category.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter is-resized\"><a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/casadecampoliving.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/casa_de_campo_fundacion_MIR_tennis-2.jpg?ssl=1\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/casadecampoliving.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/casa_de_campo_fundacion_MIR_tennis-2.jpg?resize=565%2C281&amp;ssl=1\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-32076\" title=\"casa_de_campo_fundacion_MIR_tennis\" height=\"281\" width=\"565\"\/><\/a><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\"><strong>Competitors enjoy the tennis tournament at the La Terraza Tennis Club in Casa de Campo<br>\n<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left\">Following the tennis, the golf tournament began at 1PM at the La Romana Country Club in Casa de Campo.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter is-resized\"><a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/casadecampoliving.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/casa_de_campo_fundacion_MIR_golf.jpg?ssl=1\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/casadecampoliving.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/casa_de_campo_fundacion_MIR_golf.jpg?resize=565%2C313&amp;ssl=1\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-32078\" title=\"casa_de_campo_fundacion_MIR_golf\" height=\"313\" width=\"565\"\/><\/a><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\"><strong>Golfers Peggy Goldberg and Lelloy Tamburini pose for a photo whilst Jose Berges tees off!<br>\n<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left\">In the evening, the \u2018Dancing for Life\u2019 event was held at Casa de Campo\u2019s gorgeous Minitas Beach \u2013 set up on the upper main beach area in between the beach bar and \u2018La Palapa\u2019 and it was gorgeous! Set below the palm trees, which glowed in green and blue lighting, guests were greeted by cocktails in the bar area before being seated for dinner.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter is-resized\"><a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/casadecampoliving.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/casa_de_campo_fundacion_MIR_playa_minitas.jpg?ssl=1\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/casadecampoliving.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/casa_de_campo_fundacion_MIR_playa_minitas.jpg?resize=565%2C336&amp;ssl=1\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-32079\" title=\"casa_de_campo_fundacion_MIR_playa_minitas\" height=\"336\" width=\"565\"\/><\/a><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\"><strong>Guests enjoyed a candle-lit dinner on Playa Minitas<br>\n<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left\">During dinner, founder of the Fundaci\u00f3n MIR, Lian Fanjul de Azqueta and President of the Fundaci\u00f3n MIR, Lyanne Azqueta took to the stage to thank all the guests for their continued support. The ladies were joined on the stage by a group of graduating students from the Fundaci\u00f3n MIR\u2019s schools in La Romana who sang a beautiful song for the guests.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/casadecampoliving.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/casa_de_campo_fundacion_MIR_playa_minitas1.jpg?resize=565%2C384&amp;ssl=1\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-32080\" title=\"casa_de_campo_fundacion_MIR_playa_minitas\" height=\"384\" width=\"565\"\/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\"><strong>Lian Fanjul de Azqueta is joined by students of the Fundaci\u00f3n MIR schools in La Romana<\/strong><a href=\"https:\/\/casadecampoliving.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/casa_de_campo_fundacion_MIR_playa_minitas1.jpg\"><br>\n<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left\">Following such a wonderful dinner, the dance floor quickly filled with couples, families and friends happy to dance the night away with live music from<a href=\"https:\/\/casadecampoliving.com\/2010\/12\/dos-en-la-via-eventos-a-company-dedicated-to-the-art-of-entertainment\/\"> Coralis of Dos en la Via <\/a>and later with the legendary DJ Gringo from Miami, whilst other guests enjoyed casino games by the Casino Diamante Hamaca from Bayahibe.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter is-resized\"><a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/casadecampoliving.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/casa_de_campo_fundacion_MIR_playa_minitas2.jpg?ssl=1\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/casadecampoliving.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/casa_de_campo_fundacion_MIR_playa_minitas2.jpg?resize=565%2C507&amp;ssl=1\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-32081\" title=\"casa_de_campo_fundacion_MIR_playa_minitas\" height=\"507\" width=\"565\"\/><\/a><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\"><strong>Peter Dolora and Mary-Lou dance the night away!<br>\n<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left\">This event was, from start to finish fantastic and very much enjoyed by everyone who participated, there is no doubt that a great sum of money was raised to benefit the Fundacion MIR, a non-profit organization which works to provide eduction to the children and people of La Romana most in need.
