Obviously, I can\u2019t say what it\u2019s been like in other parts of the country but here in Casa de Campo La Romana, it\u2019s honestly not been that bad. Yes it rained and was windy in the night and yes it is still raining \u2013 but nothing out of the ordinary. In fact, I would say (and this is just my opinion) the weather was less worrisome than during a normal thunder storm \u2013 there was little\/no thunder and lightening, which meant I could sleep without a problem!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>So did Tropical Storm Emily leave already?<\/strong><br>\nFor the answer to this question please consult the above photograph \u2013 does it look like she left? At 6am this morning <a href=\"http:\/\/www.onamet.gov.do\/\">the Dominican Weather Office (ONAMET)&nbsp;<\/a>published an advisory which said \u2018<strong>CENTRO DE EMILY PROXIMO A SALIR DE LA COSTA SUROESTE DE LA ISLA\u2019 <\/strong>(the centre of Emily has no left the south coast of the Dominican Republic). Unfortunately, the giant, approximately 400 mile wide cloud which makes up Tropical Storm Emily is rather stubbornly sat on top of the Dominican Republic right now, which basically means that no, she didn\u2019t leave yet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Oh no! So what does that mean for us?<br>\n<\/strong>Rain. Just like all clouds or at least nearly all clouds, the cloud that is Tropical Storm Emily is going to keep dropping rain on the Dominican Republic. The good news is that it probably won\u2019t get very windy and the rain should abate (slow down at least) within the next 24 hours as she moves up towards Cuba.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter is-resized\"><a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/casadecampoliving.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/santo_domingo_dominican_republic_tropical_storm_emily4.jpg?ssl=1\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/casadecampoliving.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/santo_domingo_dominican_republic_tropical_storm_emily4.jpg?resize=565%2C159&amp;ssl=1\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-31681\" title=\"santo_domingo_dominican_republic_tropical_storm_emily\" height=\"159\" width=\"565\"\/><\/a><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p><strong>The Weather Outlook \u2013 uh oh it looks like rain!<\/strong><br>\nHere is the 10 day weather forecast for La Romana:<br>\nAlthough this does look rather gloomy \u2013 notice the difference between today\u2019s weather outlook (rain\/thunder\/wind) and the outlook for the rest of the week (scattered T-storms).
