{"id":319902,"date":"2011-04-01T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2011-04-01T04:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/casadecampoliving.com\/the-inauguration-of-new-art-exhibit-mujer-enamorada\/"},"modified":"2022-11-10T10:10:41","modified_gmt":"2022-11-10T14:10:41","slug":"the-inauguration-of-new-art-exhibit-mujer-enamorada","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/casadecampoliving.com\/es\/the-inauguration-of-new-art-exhibit-mujer-enamorada\/","title":{"rendered":"The Inauguration of new art exhibit &#8216;Mujer Enamorada!&#8217;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/casadecampoliving.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/art_casadecampo_altosdechavon.jpg?ssl=1\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-26757\" title=\"art_casadecampo_altosdechavon\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/casadecampoliving.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/art_casadecampo_altosdechavon.jpg?resize=565%2C318&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"\" width=\"565\" height=\"318\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Last Thursday the 24th of March, with the opening of new art exhibit &#8216;Mujer Enamorada&#8217;, the Casa de Campo community was thrilled to discover 7 talented female artists, many of whom have been living in Casa de Campo and La Romana for years and we had no idea they were artists!\u00a0<!--more--><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/casadecampoliving.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/art_casadecampo_altosdechavon1.jpg?ssl=1\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-26758\" style=\"margin-left: 15px; margin-right: 15px;\" title=\"art_casadecampo_altosdechavon\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/casadecampoliving.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/art_casadecampo_altosdechavon1.jpg?resize=200%2C308&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"\" width=\"200\" height=\"308\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The 7 exhibiting artists are:\u00a0\u00d3nice Mej\u00eda, Am\u00e9rica Olivo, Olivette Santoni, Miguelina Rivera, Sara Mart\u00ednez, Rafaela Luna and Ivonne V\u00e9lez Cordero and each one of these lovely ladies contribute a small selection of pieces each to create a truly unique and unusually varied exhibit.<\/p>\n<p>Taking part in the exhibit is ex-Abraham Lincoln School teacher, mother and Casa de Campo villa owner Malele Strofer, whom surprised us all with a very interesting collection of\u00a0colorful\u00a0sketches.<\/p>\n<p>Whilst the majority of exhibited pieces are paintings and sketches, Am\u00e9rica Olivo is exhibiting some fascinating 3-Dimensional pieces; some made from wax, another resembling a giant pin cushion and most interesting of all &#8211; one which was created from the discarded toys of her children.<\/p>\n<p>Also taking part in the exhibit are 2 giant bird cages and 2 tiny yellow birds! These bird cages are fantastic, sculpted with thick metal wire into the shapes of a pregnant lady and man.<\/p>\n<p>The gallery \u00a0is open everyday (except Tuesdays), from 9am &#8211; 6pm and\u00a0and this exhibit will be open until April the 25th.<\/p>\n<p>Here are my photos of the opening evening &#8211; as you can see I didn&#8217;t manage to take many photos of the actual art, there was just so many people I got distracted talking!
