Last night, La Romana\u2019s Baseball team the \u2018Los Toros del Este\u2019 were crowned the champions of the Dominican Baseball League for only the 2nd time in their 28 year history! The celebrations reverberated last night all across La Romana, Casa de Campo and beyond. <\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

The \u2018serie final\u2019 began on Wednesday of last week with a victory for the Toros, following which the Toros then won all the following \u2018serie final\u2019 games (played Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday) \u2013 so that when last night they defeated the Las Estrellas yet again in a 4-2 victory they were crowned the champions!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Following this victory the Toros will now represent the Dominican Republic in the Caribbean Baseball League, last year won for the Dominican Republic by the Leones del Escogido.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Today the celebrations for the Toros will continue in La Romana with a parade through La Romana town this afternoon (sorry we don\u2019t know what time, but if you\u2019re planning a trip to Jumbo maybe wait until tomorrow!) Following the parade there will be a party in the Los Toros stadium.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
