It is a contemporary village that looks like a 16th century Italian cliff town.  It was designed by Roberto Copa, a former Paramount Studios set designer, and by Charles Bl\u00fcdorn, founder of Gulf+WesternIndustries in 1976.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I recently found a poster of Altos among my old photos.  It is from a photo taken by New York-based architectural photographer, Peter Loppacher, and used to be at the Altos gift shop, La Bougainvillia.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter is-resized\"><a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/casadecampoliving.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/01-Altos-Poster-by-Peter-Loppacher.jpg?ssl=1\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/casadecampoliving.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/01-Altos-Poster-by-Peter-Loppacher.jpg?resize=565%2C365&amp;ssl=1\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-24543\" title=\"01 Altos Poster by Peter Loppacher\" height=\"365\" width=\"565\"\/><\/a><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Altos Poster by Peter Loppacher<br>\n <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Altos de Chavon is a cultural and artistic destination.  For the performing arts, there is the amphitheatre.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The inaugural performance featured Frank Sinatra with the Buddy Rich Orchestra, Heart, and Santana on August 20, 1982.  Since that time there have been many spectacular events and performances.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Usually there would be a reception at the ZanziBar to celebrate the event.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Near the front door was a welcoming food table.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter is-resized\"><a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/casadecampoliving.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/02-A-Welcoming-Appetizer.jpg?ssl=1\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/casadecampoliving.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/02-A-Welcoming-Appetizer.jpg?resize=565%2C340&amp;ssl=1\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-24545\" title=\"02 A Welcoming class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Canap\u00e9s and slices of sushi with a tomato and dill salad were offered to the guests before they even entered ZanziBar.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/casadecampoliving-wp.s3-accelerate.amazonaws.com\/2011\/01\/03-Sushi-and-Canap\u00e9s-with-Salad.jpg?resize=565%2C381&amp;ssl=1\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-24544\" <\/strong><br>\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The ZanziBar wait staff were all in place in anticipation of the guests\u2019 arrivals.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure
