(Although we have heard rumours that the building is to be reopened as a different restaurant!) <\/p>\n\n\n\n<!--more-->\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p><em>\u201cThere is no love sincerer than the love of food.\u201d<\/em><br>\n\u2014 George Bernard Shaw<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>Casa de Campo\u2019s fantastic restaurant, Casa del Rio, was always an adventure. The emphasis is on cooking using olive oils with herbs and spices, home-grown fruits and vegetables, and fish and fowl.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter is-resized\"><a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/casadecampoliving.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/04-Cuisine-du-Soleil.jpg?ssl=1\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" Dominican Nouvelle Festival in Casa del Rio introducing Cuisine du Soleil to the world.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter is-resized\"><a foods were exquisite, and captured the interest of Linda Platzer, one of the Beard Foundation\u2019s program committee members, who happened to be visiting Casa de Campo at the time.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter is-resized\"><a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/casadecampoliving.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/06-Fabulous-Food-of-Casa.jpg?ssl=1\"><img famous restaurants of the world prepare a dinner for members and guests of the Foundation.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter is-resized\"><a Philippe Mongereau and two others, Chef Luis Lara, and Casa de Campo Food Director, Marshall Burke,  presented the fabulous foods of Casa de Campo to seventy distinguished bon vivants at James Beard\u2019s House in Manhattan in September, 1991.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter is-resized\"><a Casa de Campo was excited by this honor, and especially inspired were the three chefs who traveled to New York City to prepare the dinner in honor of Casa de Campo and Chef Mongereau\u2019s Cuisine du
